Duratec Team has the new member Daniel Polman. Daniel is extréme sportman and general editor of magazíne „people&mountain“ (original in Czech: lide&hory). He is very active in cooperation on mtb guide cross Austria. Thanks contract and relationship between Duratec and Daniel Polman it will test Duratec bike Canner CC1 conceived for him. First races were Alpen Trophy 2009 in Austrian Schladming (category UCI S1). Czech racers were very succesful on Alpen Trophy 2009 (Tereza Hurikova – 1st place Elite Woman, Milan Spesny – 5.th place Elite Men, Daniel Polman – 10.th place in open category SK2). We congratulate and we hope we will introduce more attractive photos with model Canner CC1 in extreme conditions .....
Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Sharjah, inaugurated the Arab Cycling Championship at the newly-built track, Zayed Velodrome, near Sharjah International Airport on Monday. The nine-day championship moved to the track on Sunday after the event had been held at the Sharjah corniche over the past six days. The inauguration of the championship also marked the official opening of the track.Shaikh Faisal bin Humaid Al Qasimi, president of the UAE Cycling Association, in a short address, thanked Shaikh Sultan for gracing the occasion. He said the track marked a new era in cycling in UAE. He expressed the hope that the track would help the development of the sport, not only UAE, but in the Arab world and Asia.Shaikh Sultan, speaking to the media later, said the velodrome would go a long way to raise the standard of the sport in the country. He called on the youth to make good use of the facility to improve on their standard.
