Duratec - bike frames manufacturing and selling 

Duratec gave support to the racer Josef Soukup for cyclocross season 2009–2010. He is riding on Duratec Rebel S8 – cyclocross special frame designed by calculation Bikefitting. The frame has optimized geometry for his person and the position on bike is calibrated through the Bikefitting calculation. We beleive that this customized bike will help him to increase the power during cyclocross race. Josef’s target is the nomination on World championships 2010 in Tabor (Czech Republic). A race of couples was held on Wednesday 30th September 2009 on the SK Rapid oval cyclodrom in Plzen and it was a big show indeed. A large number of teams (couples) competed on a race track called Madison. The distance to go being several tens of kilometers. Members of the team alternated during the race. Whilst one member of the team couple was going slowly, trying to save energy, the other was trying complete the oval in the meantime. Then they exchanged their roles in a rather peculiar way. The faster one had to catch the slower one by hand and throw him forward to give him the initial boost. He could then slow down, whilst his team fellow was speeding up to complete the round before they changed their roles again.

The throwing itself requires a lot of experience. Any physical contact between the cyclists at high speed is dangerous, considering that there is another 15 teams racing around you. So the race is quite demanding. Furthermore there are time trials within the race. The winner is the couple that completed the highest number of rounds. If two teams are equal as far as the number of rounds is concerned, the team with higher time trial score wins. The number of rounds is not set in advance, it depends on the organizers.

Duratec was represented by an experienced couple: Jiri Jezek and Vaclav Zvonar this time. We all hope that this competition was not the last one this season. We are looking forward to the upcoming fantastic shows and if you come, we can guarantee, you will not get bored.

Duratec introduced their brand new road frame „Cult“ at the traid fair Sportlife last autumn. Tickled the customer´s sences during the cycling season to fulfill their expectations right now – Cult is here and we had the chance to test it! And more – Cult became the winner of the magazine contest Velo star 2009. Duratec goes its way.

The personal approach to the customers, sophisticated systém of customer’s pro­duction, the way of sale, but first of all the ideas and inovations are the main think, that makes Duratec national cycling jewel !

Duratec Company is the partner of czech classic race Prague – Karlovy Vary – Prague, that took place in Sunday the 19.th September 2009 with start and finish on Strahov´s stadium in Prague. On this 64.th year there we could see on start line the 27 cycling teams from Europe. It was excelent race long 268 km. First racer on finish line and the winner was Danilo Hondo from PSK Whirpool team (CZE) with time 6:41 hours, average speed 39,85 km/h. Second place Marko Kump and third place Grega Bole (both from Team Adria Mobil). We gratulation everybody who went to the finish !

During race Praha – Karlovy Vary – Praha we could follow exhibitions in artistic riding and last race Czech Duratec cup of handicap tandems, race of handbikes and children race. The winners in category handicap tandems are Chyba-Moflar (CZE). We gratulation.
