SONIX CX4 27.5er

The Sonix CX4-27.5" bike is suitable for cross-country and marathon races. It has a very dynamic appearance and attracts significant attention in the peloton. The frame has no superfluous brazed-ons, and the Bowden cables are concealed inside the frame. It has a purely racing geometry, complemented by the fact that upon request we can customise this model for sets with a single chainring.

Own production allows us to optimise the geometry of the frame and riding position on the bike so that it corresponds with the proportions of the cyclist. If we fine tune the riding position, not only will the cyclist feel very good from the aspect of ergonomics and high load, but we will also ensure optimum transmission of power for him. Sonix CX4 27,5 & Shimano XT m8000

The frame construction utilises light, large-diameter double-butted tubes, which effectively resist the dynamic strain during a race and offer the cyclist faster reaction and good handling due to their rigidity. The top and bottom tube are shaped in the direction from the head of the frame in such a way that they absorb any dynamic impacts from the front wheel, making the frame even more comfortable. The design of the shape of the rear stays and the bottom and top tubes has a positive influence on the transmission of shocks from wheel to the contact points of the cyclist, i.e., to the seatpost and the handlebars. The technical and innovative construction of the frame offers the user-cyclist excellent value for money. The frame makes a very elegant impression due to the fact that everything is routed internally.

Sonix CX4 benefits

The conical head tube is for bearings 1-1/8"- 1-1/2". The larger diameter of the bearing in the lower part of the head ensures optimal distribution of the flexural moment from the braking force at the fixed point. FSA ORBIT IS2 industrial enclosed bearings are part of each frame.

Tapered headtube Shock eleminator

In the direction from the head, the top and down tubes of the frame are shaped so that in the case of dynamic impacts on the front wheel during races on rough terrain, they better distribute this load and the frame becomes more comfortable, which the cyclist will appreciate during longer rides in particular. The function can be explained as a concertina effect. You can find a more detailed explanation here. The cables for the front and rear derailleur are routed inside the frame. The cables always emerge from the frame directly at the component, i.e., the front and rear derailleur. The hydraulic hose for the rear brake is also routed through the top tube. Thanks to its internal Teflon routing, this model places minimal demands on maintenance.

Duratec frames are hand welded, They do not have a conventional bead shaped by a welding robot, because the weld is performed by hand in several steps. You can find more information about welds and grinding on the technology page. Biaxial S-bend seat stays have a highly specific shape. The dynamic impacts from bumps in the terrain pass via the rear wheel into the rear triangle of the frame to the nodal connection of the seat tube with seat. Thanks to the designed bi-directional profiling of the seat stays, these dynamic forces are distributed and the vertical component of the force negatively impacting ride comfort is lessened.

Handmade welds Rear brake

In the picture the rear wheel is attached by a quick-release. But for an additional charge you can select attachment of the rear wheel on a fixed axle using the patented Syntace X-12 system. This solution significantly increases the rigidity and strength of the frame's rear triangle. It is far stronger than conventional fixing using a quick-release. In the case of a defect changing the wheel is very easy, because the wheel fits in precisely the very first time. If a fixed rear axle is chosen, the rear brake must be attached using the POST MOUNT system.

The Sonix CX4 frame is suitable for a bottom pull front derailleur with diameter 34,9 mm. 

Front derailleur mounting Sandwich System

Atypical design of frame bottom bracket developed in connection with the internal running of the cables. Thanks to the internal Teflon routing, the cables to the rear and front derailleur are routed inside the frame, and thanks to the "sandwich" system of the bottom bracket they neatly bypass it without touching the actual bottom bracket in which the axle is mounted. The internal bottom bracket is a conventional BSA one, 68 mm wide.

During manufacture of the frame we use components precisely milled on CNC machines, such as rear dropouts with stainless steel contact surfaces and removable chain holder.

Rear dropouts Chain grip

The chain holder is screwed onto the inner side of the rear frame  dropout and is a highly valuable aid especially for those who often remove the rear wheel from the frame. Thanks to this clever little gadget, when you remove the wheel the chain will stay on this holder, and you can handle the bike just as you want without having to secure the chain. So, clean hands, secured chain, and the optimum state for transport.
